Global Dairy Leaders from 50 Countries to Explore Dairy’s Future Opportunities at the IDF World Dairy Summit 2023

September 20, 2023 (Madison, WI) The International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit (IDF WDS) 2023 is only one month away. On October 16-19 in Chicago, dairy leaders from around the world will explore the Boundless Potential – Endless Opportunities through new approaches to meet today’s challenges and chart a path toward a prosperous future.

Dairy’s premier global gathering returns to the United States for the first time in 30 years and is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to experience three and a half days of dynamic programming, eight plenary sessions, and twenty-one concurrent break-out sessions, all led by world-renowned experts against the backdrop of one of the United States’ most historic cities.

IDF WDS 2023 kicks off with the Global Leaders Forum, featuring global experts discussing the future of dairy production and innovation. Confirmed speakers include Dairy Management Inc. President and CEO Barbara O’Brien, Morinaga Milk Industry Co. President Yohichi Ohnuki, Nestlé Chief Procurement Officer Patricia Stroup, and Fonterra Cooperative Group CEO Miles Hurrell.

Other highly anticipated content includes:

  • Plenary sessions on global economic outlook and marketing trends, successes in international standard setting, nutrition and policy, and challenges and opportunities within dairy farming and processing
  • Multiple concurrent sessions on how to best adapt to and take advantage of opportunities in the rapidly evolving landscape around precision nutrition and sustainability, as well as navigate economic factors, food safety, and dietary guidance​​; and,
  • Discussions on hot topics, like a panel on dairy science and technology, including how novel cell-based fermentation technologies will impact dairy’s future
