The International Dairy Federation (IDF) is bringing together the global dairy community in Anand, India, for a landmark Symposium focused on milk from sheep, goats, camels, donkeys and other non-bovine species.
These animals are widely distributed across the globe and play a vital role in supporting sustainable livelihoods—contributing to local economies, empowering women, enhancing food security, and sustaining rural and peri-urban communities.
Overview of the event
The Symposium is aimed to bring together researchers, academia, milk producers & processors, policy makers and professionals across the dairy sector to present and discuss science, technology, production and policy related to milks originating from non-bovine species (sheep, goat, camel, donkey and other non-bovine milks). The event will feature technical sessions on socio-economic aspects; farm management including animal selection, breeding, health & nutrition; sustainability; compositional specificities and processing technologies; global standards on quality & safety; analytical aspects; and therapeutic & functional properties of the non-bovine milks. The Symposium will serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and information among international experts and sector stakeholders.
It will focus on the latest scientific advances and recent developments on the subject. It is a key meeting to network, discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with non-bovine milks.
The event will offer an unparalleled opportunity to connect with leading organizations in non-bovine milks. It will provide a dynamic platform for sharing experiences, discussing new ideas and addressing emerging issues with global colleagues during the Event.
