The IDF Dairy Innovation Awards 2026 celebrate the groundbreaking work shaping a sustainable, resilient, and forward‑looking global dairy sector. Now in its fifth edition the Awards spotlight innovations that strengthen the entire dairy value chain, from farm to consumer.
This annual programme honours solutions that demonstrate real‑world impact: advancing climate action, improving resource efficiency, enhancing animal health and welfare, delivering high‑quality nutrition, and fostering inclusion and transparency across the sector. By showcasing leadership and ingenuity at every stage of production and processing, the Awards highlight how innovation is helping dairy meet evolving global challenges while building trust with the communities it serves.
The 2026 edition continues to champion excellence in sustainable farming, cutting‑edge processing and product development, and initiatives that support people and the planet; affirming dairy’s essential role in creating strong food systems and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Organised and presented by the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and proudly sponsored by Tetra Pak, a global leader in food processing and packaging solutions, the Awards offer entrants high‑level visibility and credibility among peers across the global dairy community. Participation provides an opportunity to gain international recognition, benchmark innovation, and strengthen market positioning.
New for 2026, IDF will introduce a Judges’ Choice Award, selected by the international jury from among all submissions. The award will recognize an outstanding innovation that demonstrates exceptional impact, originality and potential to inspire progress across the global dairy sector.
The 2026 edition of the awards attracted over 180 entries from 23 countries, showcasing the dairy sector’s dedication to innovation at every level of the value chain.

The IDFDIA2026 accepted entries from 2 March to 17 July 2026. Finalists will be announced on 5 October with the winners presented at a dedicated awards ceremony at the IDF World Dairy Summit in Auckland, New Zealand on 17 November.

IDF awards evaluation process
The IDF Awards evaluation process is designed to be fair, transparent, and aligned with global sustainability goals. Each submission is assessed across multiple categories and variables. This year’s evaluation period will take place from mid-August through 25 September.
The International Dairy Federation (IDF) facilitates the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards to highlight innovation across the global dairy sector. The views, claims, practices, or scientific positions presented in award submissions, and by award winners, are solely those of the respective entrants and do not necessarily reflect the official views, policies, or positions of the IDF. The judging panels operate independently and evaluate entries based on the criteria established for each category. Their evaluations and selections do not imply IDF endorsement of the content, technologies, or claims submitted.
