IDF at COP30: Driving Global Dialogue on Sustainable Livestock
The International Dairy Federation (IDF) proudly concluded an impactful week at COP30 in Brazil, where our delegation actively contributed to shaping the global conversation on sustainable livestock and its essential role in resilient food systems.
Key Highlights of Our Engagement
November 18 – Blue Zone Side Event
IDF launched its presence in the official Blue Zone with a pivotal discussion titled:
“Enhancing Livestock Sustainability through Science, Innovation, and Partnership.”
This event underscored the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainability goals. We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners:
European Dairy Association (EDA), Dairy Farmers of Canada, International Meat Secretariat (IMS), Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and Danone for their commitment to progress and shared vision.
November 19 – EMBRAPA AgriZone Side Event
Our second engagement focused on the ecosystem services provided by the livestock sector, featuring an inspiring case study from Agropecuária Ouro Branco, a farm in Bandeirantes, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. This example demonstrated how livestock farming can coexist with—and even enhance—nature, fostering biodiversity and providing habitats for local wildlife.
Special thanks to International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI)/TALRI and Fedw Arian Uchaf Farm for their invaluable contributions.
Building Partnerships for a Sustainable Future
Throughout COP30, IDF engaged with numerous organizations, reinforcing that the path to sustainability is a shared responsibility. The global dairy sector stands united, proactive, and ready to deliver science-based solutions for a better future.
Thank you to all who joined us in this vital mission. Together, we are shaping a sustainable tomorrow.
