The International Dairy Federation (IDF) successfully launched its 120th anniversary commemorative e-book at the IDF Forum during the IDF World Dairy Summit on 15 October. The digital publication, Developing Dairy for 120 Years, celebrates the organization’s leadership, innovation, and collaboration within the global dairy industry.
The e-book offers a comprehensive account of IDF’s history, highlighting its role in advancing dairy science, nutrition, sustainability, and safety. It weaves together stories, documents, and images that underscore the pivotal moments and contributions IDF has made to the global dairy sector since its founding in 1903.
IDF President Piercristiano Brazzale, in his foreword, emphasized the importance of the milestone: “This e-book is more than a celebration of IDF’s achievements. It is a tribute to the countless individuals—past and present—who have contributed to IDF’s legacy. From our early work in milk and dairy standardization to today’s innovations in sustainability and nutrition, we owe our success to the dedicated members of the IDF community”.
IDF Director General Laurence Rycken reflected on IDF’s lasting influence: “For 120 years, IDF has driven collaboration and progress in the dairy sector, shaping global standards and addressing emerging challenges. This e-book reflects the spirit of innovation that continues to guide us as we navigate issues like sustainability and food security, while remaining true to our mission of fostering international cooperation”.
The e-book, a dynamic and evolving platform, features contributions from experts across the globe and will be updated with new material from IDF’s vibrant community. It serves as both a historical record and a forward-looking vision of dairy’s future, capturing the essence of IDF’s commitment to excellence.
The launch event at the IDF Forum was attended by key stakeholders from the dairy sector, including scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders, all of whom joined in celebrating this important chapter in IDF’s history.
