Chicago, US, October 16, 2023: The IDF World Dairy Summit 2023 opened today under the theme “BE Dairy: Boundless Potential. Endless Possibilities”. The US, the world’s 2nd largest milk producer, will be hosting 4 days of sessions exploring the latest developments in dairy science, technology, knowledge and innovation from all over the world. The IDF World dairy Summit 2023 will also be an unparalleled opportunity for networking for dairy leaders and experts from all over the world.
Dairy’s premier global gathering returns to the United States for the first time in 30 years and is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to experience a dynamic programming, consisting of eight plenary sessions, and twenty-one concurrent break-out sessions, all led by world-renowned experts.
This year, the IDF World dairy summit coincides with IDF’s 120th anniversary. Since 1903, IDF has been acting as the global dairy sector’s voice of scientific and technical. As part of this important milestone, IDF’s General Assembly, representing a broad swath of dairy producing countries from around the world, has issued a statement. Special events and activities were organised to celebrate this momentous occasion, which also coincides with the 60th anniversary of IDF’s collaboration with key stakeholders such as Codex Alimentarius and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). A special session will be dedicated to this relevant joint work.
Also, in the context of the Summit, IDF has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with other key stakeholders like ICAR, the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR), and IICA (Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture).
The IDF World dairy Summit will host the second edition of the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards, aimed at showcasing the most innovative and groundbreaking innovations of global dairy.
Other highly anticipated content includes:
- Plenary sessions on global economic outlook and marketing trends, successes in international standard setting, nutrition and policy, and challenges and opportunities within dairy farming and processing
- Multiple concurrent sessions on how to best adapt to and take advantage of opportunities in the rapidly evolving landscape around precision nutrition and sustainability, as well as navigate economic factors, food safety, and dietary guidance; and,
- Discussions on hot topics, like a panel on dairy science and technology, including how novel cell-based fermentation technologies will impact dairy’s future
IDF WDS 2023 will also offer unparalleled networking opportunities with more than one thousand delegates attending, including nearly 100 c-suite executives, and many more at managing director and other senior executive levels of leading dairy companies, organizations, and institutions.
