IDF would like to announce that it will be releasing a newly updated publication of the “IDF common approach to carbon foot printing in the dairy value chain using a lifecycle assessment approach”, planning to be published in Q3 of 2022. This will replace the previous Bulletin 479 that was released in 2015.
This is currently being reviewed by the Action Team, composed of 41 experts from 17 countries, and the changes that have been proposed in the different areas. Once this has been completed, the publication is expected to be released by early April. Updates will also be made in some key areas identified in the last publication, such as the scope, boundaries, emission factors, allocation approaches, land use, and land-use change.
The final guide should be published in early September 2022. If you would like more insight into this project, find out more information in our two-page document here, which dives into the background, need and purpose for this methodology.
